This Tour Takes in the wide variety of landscapes that add a new dimension to this fascinating land. Starting from the modern capital of Delhi you stop at Agra to pay tribute to the magnificence of the Taj. From there to the wetlands of Keoladeo Ghana National Park that attracts avian life from as far away as Siberia and magnolia. The rocky Aravali is not far, and the strategic advantage of the fort at Amber is clearly revealed. With Jaipur behind you the land gets more arid. Every now and then a herd of sheep and goats accompanied by a few straggling camels joins the road to the scenic 16th century castle at Khimsar.

The golden sands of the Thar shift around the ancient desert cities of Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Bikaner. This is arid country and the warm monochromatic tint is relieved by vividity of colours and flashing smiles worn by the people. Located on the banks of Lake Pichola, Udaipur turns green again. Lush forested hills, where wildlife still abounds surround the settlement, while from little islands in the lake, palaces of pure white marble rise out of the water.

DAY 01: ARRIVAL DELHI
Reception and welcome at Delhi airport followed by transfer to your hotel.

DAY 02: DELHI
After a morning at leisure, a tour introduces you to the city of New Delhi. Explore the Moghul capital of Shahjahanabad, better known today as Old Delhi.

DAY 03: DELHI / AGRA BY SURFACE
Drive out to Agra at dawn, you can check in and take the time to refresh yourself at your hotel before viewing the Taj Mahal and other monuments in the city. Return to the Taj at sunset to see it fired by a different palette.

DAY 04: AGRA / BHARATPUR BY SURFACE
Welcome the new day at the Taj before driving out to Bharatpur. The evening is a good time to visit Keoladeo Ghana National Park.

DAY 05: BHARATPUR / JAIPUR BY SURFACE
On the way to Jaipur stop to explore the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri.

DAY 06: JAIPUR
Visit Amber Fort on elephant back in the morning before setting out on a city tour of Jaipur.

DAY 07: JAIPUR / KHIMSAR BY SURFACE
A long drive to Khimsar where you spend the night at the castle.

DAY 08: KHIMSAR
Spend the day at leisure.

DAY 09: KHIMSAR / BIKANER BY SURFACE
The drive to Bikaner can be accomplished in the morning, leaving the afternoon free to tour the town and Junagarh Fort.

DAY 10: BIKANER / JAISALMER BY SURFACE
Leave for the medieval town of Jaisalmer. Your day there is at leisure.

DAY 11: JAISALMER
Extensive sightseeing in and around Jaisalmer, and a camel safari at Sam sand dunes.

DAY 12: JAISALMER / JODHPUR BY SURFACE
Arriving at Jodhpur in the morning, you can spend the day exploring the city.

DAY 13: JODHPUR / UDAIPUR BY SURFACE
Visit the Ranakpur temples on the way to Udaipur.

DAY 14: UDAIPUR
Spend the day sight-seeing in and around Udaipur, including a boat ride on Lake Pichola.

DAY 15: UDAIPUR / DELHI BY FLIGHT
After a morning at leisure fly back to Delhi in the afternoon.

DAY 16: DELHI DEPARTURE
The day is free for independent activity and last minute shopping before you transfer to the airport in time for your flight out.
