Day 1: Delhi / Srinagar (By Flight)
In time transfer from your hotel to airport to connect flight to Srinagar. Arrive in Srinagar, the beautiful capital of Jammu and Kashmir, known for its lakes and mountains. On arrival, transfer to hotel and check in at the hotel or get transferred to the houseboat.
Srinagar is located in the heart of the Kashmir valley at an altitude of 1,730 m above sea level, spread on both sides of the river Jhelum. The Dal and Nagin lakes enhance its picturesque setting, while the changing play of the seasons and the salubrious climate ensures that the city is equally attractive to visitors around the year.
Spend the day at leisure and enjoy Shikara ride to Nehru Park in the evening. Have an overnight stay in the hotel or houseboat.
Day 2: Srinagar
Morning excursion to the enchanting Mughal Gardens that were built by Emperor Jahangir. Visit the Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh and other beautiful gardens situated on the eastern side of the dazzling Dal Lake. Return to the hotel or houseboat for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Srinagar – Gulmarg – Srinagar (By Surface)
Full day excursion to Gulmarg, situated at a distance of 55 kms at an altitude of 2730 meters.
Gulmarg looks like a fantasy set in a film and not surprisingly have been the venue of several films. The valley of Gulmarg, a large meadow about 3-sq-kms in area, stands at 2,730 meters, 56-km south west of Srinagar. The name means’ Meadow Of Flowers’ and in the spring it’s just that, a rolling meadow dotted with countless colorful Bluebells, Daisies, Forget Me Not’s and Buttercups. The valley itself is about 3-km long and up to a km wide.
Enjoy walks in the lush green meadows of flowers having snow-capped mountains at the back. Also go on a pony ride or a Gondola ride (rope way) to Khillanmarg at your own expanse. Return to Srinagar for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Srinagar – Pahalgam (By Surface)
Morning drive to Pahalgam at a distance of about 94 kms.
Pahalgam is probably the most popular hill resort in the Kashmir valley. Since it is rather lower than Gulmarg the night time temperatures do not drop so low and it has the further advantage of the beautiful Lidder River running right through the town.
Pahalgam is situated at the junction of the Aru and Sheshnag Rivers and surrounded by soaring, fir-covered mountains with bare, snow-capped peaks rising behind them. The Aru flows down from the Kolahoi glacier beyond Lidder while the Sheshnag from glaciers along the great Himalayan.
At the confluence of the streams flowing from the river Lidder and Sheshnag Lake, Pahalgam was once a humble shepherd’s village with breathtaking views. Now it Kashmir’s premier resort, cool even during the height of summer.
On your way you will also visit the enchanting Saffron fields, Avantipura Ruins and Anantnag Sulpher Springs. On arrival at Pahalgam check in at the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure exploring the beautiful countryside. Have an overnight stay in your hotel.
Day 5: Pahalgam
Morning proceed to visit Chandanwadi, Snow Point, at a distance of 114 kms at your own expanse or enjoy a pony ride. Later return to Pahalgam and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Explore the surroundings and go on leisure walks through the pine forests along Lidder River. Have an overnight stay at your hotel in Pahalgam.
Day 6: Pahalgam – Srinagar (By Surface)
Morning at leisure and later get transferred to Srinagar again. Spend the rest of the day at Srinagar going on Shikara rides or shopping to Floating Market on the Dal Lake. Return to the hotel/ houseboat for an overnight stay.
Day 7: Srinagar / Delhi (By Flight)
In time transfer from your hotel or houseboat to airport to connect flight to Delhi. On arrival, transfer to International airport to connect flight for onward destination.
