Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Meeting and assistance on arrival at International airport and transfer to hotel. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Delhi
Morning sightseeing of New Delhi is consisting of drive through the Raisina Hills- Parliament House, India Gate, President House, 16th century tomb of Emperor Humayun built of Marble & Red stone in typical Mughal fashion, Lotus temple (Bahai Temple) & Qutab Minar. Afternoon sight seeing of Old Delhi is highlighted Shah Jahan’s Red Fort, the bustling market place of Chandni Chowk by Rickshaw Puller Ride, Raj Ghat, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi. Evening return to the Red Fort to watch the “Sun et Lumire” which is an inter play of colorful lights and sound tracing the history of monument till date. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Delhi – Jaipur (By Surface)
Morning drive to Jaipur. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Evening free time to enjoy the city atmosphere which by many means is fabulous. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Jaipur
Morning excursion to 17th Century fortress of Amber. Ascend to the fort on Caparisoned Elephant to various Palaces with rooms of stunning beauty including the World’s finest Chamber of mirrors and the temple of Kali.
Afternoon visit the Maharajas’ City Palace & its museum, Jantar Mantar (Observatory), Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) & Birla White Marble Temple. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Jaipur – Agra (By Surface)
Morning drive to Agra en-route visiting the old deserted town of Mughal Dynasty i.e. Fatehpur Sikri. On arrival, check in into hotel. Afternoon city tour covering Taj Mahal, Red Fort and the Tomb of Itmad-ud-daula’s Tomb. (TAJ MAHAL IS CLOSED ON FRIDAYS). Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Agra / Varanasi (By Flight)
Morning transfer to airport to connect flight to Varanasi. On arrival, transfer to hotel. Afternoon city tour of Sarnath: famous for its Dhamekh Stupa and for it being the place where Buddha preached his first sermon enshrining the principle of his teachings into laws. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Varanasi
Early morning boat ride at River Ganges, followed by a city tour covering – Vishwanath Temple, Bharat Mata Temple etc. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Varanasi – Bodhgaya (By Surface)
Morning drive to Bodhgaya. On arrival, check in at the hotel.
Bodhgaya in the state of Bihar, reckoned as the most important Buddhist pilgrimage center, is the place where Lord Sakyamuni (Gautam Buddha) entered into meditation after being moved by the sufferings of mankind. Then there is Chaukramana, the Jewel walk, where it is believed that the Buddha strolled while in deep thought. Visit the Maha Bodhi, Jaganath temple. Also visit the Bodhgaya Archaeological Museum which is a must for a religious art lover.
Day 9: Bodhgaya
Full day visit to Rajgir/ Nalanda / Sapta pari cave and Venevamas. Rajgir: an important Buddhist pilgrimage since the Buddha spent 12 years here, and the first Buddhist council after the Buddha attained Nirvana was held here, Nalanda: founded in the 5th century known as center of intellectualism. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: Bodhgaya – Vaishali – Kushinagar (By Surface)
Morning drive to Vaishali, a very special place to Buddhists as The Lord delivered his last sermon & announced his impending ” Nirvana”. See the majesty of Ashok Pillar – Lotus tank, Chaumukhi & proceed to Kushinagar for overnight stay.
Day 11: Kushinagar – Lumbini (By Surface)
Morning visit Mahanirvana Temple, the modern Japan/Sri Lanka Buddhist center & monasteries, then proceed to Lumbini. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 12: Lumbini – Kapilvastu – Sravasti – Balrampur (By Surface)
Morning visit to Ashoka’s pillar (249 BC) rediscovered in 1890’s inside thick sal forest, a temple of Mayadevi, the ruins of an old monastery and some new stupas, then in the afternoon proceed to Balrampur en route visiting Sravasti where you will see the extensive ruins of this ancient city & Jetavana Monastery. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 13: Balrampur – Lucknow (By Surface)
Morning city tour of Balrampur. Later drive to Lucknow. On arrival check in into hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 14: Lucknow / Delhi (By Flight)
Morning city tour of Lucknow visiting Imam Bara, Rumi Darwaza. Afternoon transfer from hotel to airport to connect flight for Delhi. On arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 15: Depart Delhi
In time transfer from hotel to International airport to connect flight for onward destination.
